Standard 1: The physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
Standard 2: The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance.
Standard 3: The physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.

10% - In-Class Activities, Quizzes, Written Tests, or other assignments.
20% - Skill Tests based on authentic assessment rubrics that will be handed out at the beginning of units.
70% - Daily Participation, Attendance, and ability to follow the Three R’s!

Attire/Materials:
- Athletic wear and tennis shoes are required. I consider athletic wear to be anything you can move functionally in.
- Blue jeans are not athletic wear.
- Clothing should meet the school’s handbook guidelines.
- As long as the shoes do not scuff or leave marks on the floor they are allowed.
- Boots, Sandals, Flip-flops, Crocs, Slip-Ons, Slides, or anything else that does not cover the foot and stay attached are not allowed.
- If you are not appropriately dressed out, you will earn a zero for the day.
- Most jewelry and gum will not be allowed during gym class, for purposes of safety. Necklaces and stud earrings will be allowed.
- Blue jeans are not athletic wear.
- Computers, bookbags, and other things will be put in gym lockers unless otherwise instructed. All computers must be stored off of the ground, or in the student’s locker during class. We will have a cognitive portion of class, so they will be used occasionally.
- Have a notebook and folder to keep assignments, notes, rule sheets, or any other materials we hand out.
Cell Phones
- Cellphone’s will not be permitted at any time during class, they are to be left in your locker. If you attempt to bring a cellphone to class, it will be confiscated, and consequences will coordinate with the Centura student handbook.

- You will be given 10 points to start each class period. YOU have the opportunity to keep those 10-points by following class expectations and participation, this is how you can lose them:

- You are given 3 excused absences per semester. These three you will receive full daily points no questions asked. After that out of class assignments will be given.
- With any unexcused absences you will receive zero daily points.
- I will give you one free day per semester. If you come in and you are just not feeling it that day for whatever reason you can sit out. This is a ONE time deal.
